This vintage electric gadget is an Infra-Red Therm-Massage Heat Applicator. It is a handheld massage heater. It was not designed to vibrate--you have to do the work. It heats up to relieve pain in sore muscles or for facial massage. It is made out of Bakelite type plastic. It comes in the original box with directions and inserts with great retro graphics.
This massage heater was made by Emil Hoffman & Co. for Silbert & Co. in Newark, NJ sometime around the 1940s.
It is in excellent vintage condition. No signs of use. The cord looks good. It works. The box is in average condition with stains. Please use your zoom for a good look.
The gadget is about 2 1/2" X 1 1/2".
