This listing is for an unusual antique sewing/thread cabinet dating to about 1890-1920. It is beautifully made, solid wood (likely walnut) with brass tear-drop handles, incised decoration and 4 low feet. While the handles make it seem that the cabinet has one drawer, it reality, when you pull a handle, the "drawer" rotates out to reveals a shelf for storing thread. In the center is a also rotating red thread holder - possibly Bakelite. Totally unexpected! The cabinet measures about 14 inches by 7.5 inches by 5 inches high. The wood has a rich warm aged patina and condition is excellent. There is a tiny piece of wood edging missing at the top corner of the rotating drawer - hard to see. Buyer pays shipping.
