    Description

This wonderfully ornate menorah features Judith beheading Hallophernes as written in the deuterocanonical Book of Judith. A limited number of these were made for the Jewish Museum. The Museum owns the original which was crafted in the 1760s by a Polish artisan. I believe this menorah is made of brass with a nickel finish and there is some tarnish. I have not attempted to polish this item. It is in good condition with some wax remants in the candle holders. Someone put tape under one of the decorative pieces that is shown in photos, since it is missing a screw. It looks like they were trying to keep the piece from wobbling, but the piece is held on by a screw and it just needs another screw as 2 are required to keep it from wobbling. Measures approximately 9.75" tall, 10.5" long and 2.75" deep. It is very well made and quite heavy at nearly 8 pounds!
Plaque on the back says T.H.E Jewish Museum. This is an absolutely beautiful piece.
